    GARDEN SHOW GENERAL RULES

    Bring plant entries on Friday to Hidden Valley Theatre. Late entries cannot be accepted. Please be on time so your entries will be judged. Download rules and categories here.

First 10 entries PER HOUSEHOLD are free. Any entries over 10 shall be $1.00 each.

 

Competitive entries are open to all gardeners (including non-members) whether you live in Carmel Valley or not.

 

An exhibitor may have only one entry in each class or subclass, but may enter as many classes as desired. There is no limit on entries in the Artistic Arrangements Section.

 

Cut Flowers must have been grown by the exhibitor. Container plants must have been in entrant�s possession for at least six months. All specimens must be identified by botanical and/or common name. No commercially grown plants are allowed except in the Artistic Arrangement Sections.

 

PRIZES ~ Only one first, one second and one third place will be awarded in each class or subclass when warranted in the opinion of the judges - whose decision will be final. In class 90 more than one award may be made.

 

A Popular Choice Prize of $25.00 will be awarded by votes from Garden Show visitors. Cash awards will also be made for Best of Show in each section:

Container Plants . $10.00

Cut Flowers . $10.00

Roses . $10.00

 

Presentation of Awards and final bids on the Silent Auction and Raffle will be on Sunday May 8th. All Plants and arrangements must be removed by 5:00 on Sunday. No earlier exhibit removal will be permitted. The Carmel Valley Garden Association, Carmel Orchid Society, and Hidden Valley Institute of the Arts will not be responsible for loss or damage to materials, containers, etc.
